A MAN in his 20s was taken to hospital where he was treated for serious injuries following a crash on the M42 near Bromsgrove last week.
At approximately 8.15pm on Friday, an Audi collided with the central reservation on the M42 westbound between Junctions 2 (Alvechurch) and Junction 1 (Bromsgrove).
A driver in a Ford Focus stopped to assist on the hard shoulder and was then involved in a collision with a BMW.
The 20-year-old man driving the Focus sustained serious injuries which required surgery.
He remains in hospital.
The occupants of the Audi and BMW were not injured.
Road closures were in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the collision or either of the vehicles prior to the incident to come forward.
