A MAN has been charged over an incident at the end of last month where a woman fell from the fifth floor of a tower block window in Rubery.

Darren Edwards, 22, of no fixed address, was arrested in connection with the fall which happened at Quarry House, Cock Hill Lane, around 2am on August 31.

He was charged with breaching a restraining order on Monday and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday.

Police were called to the scene where they found a 29-year-old woman who had suffered serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital with critical injuries but her condition has since improved.

Enquiries are continuing in a bid to find out how the woman came to fall from the building.

Anyone with any information should call West Midlands Police on 101.
