A COUNTY lines dealer has been sentenced to four years in prison for selling crack cocaine and heroin in Bromsgrove.
Dave Dickson, 41, of Saladin Avenue, Oldbury, West Midlands, was found guilty for his involvement in an organised drug dealing network.
He was convicted of possession with intent to supply heroin, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin and possession of cannabis at Worcester Crown Court on October 18.
Dickson was sentenced to four years in prison and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £225. He was also deprived of the vehicle – a Vauxhall Astra – used for his offences and had his drugs, phone and £935 in cash seized.
The offender was stopped on the M5 whilst driving the Vauxhall Astra in November 2023 following an intelligence operation into the Bossman county line in Bromsgrove.
During the stop he was found in possession of a phone linking him to the drug dealing line, as well as £935 in cash. A further search of his home address recovered class A heroin with a street value of £9,400.
He answered ‘no comment’ in police interviews and charged and remanded. Further investigations showed his phone was used to deal crack cocaine.
Detective Constable David Laver, of North Worcestershire CID, said: “We are pleased to get this result at court to halt county lines drug dealing which reaps harm and misery on the lives of the people we are here to protect and serve.
“We will always act on any intelligence received about drug dealing in your area and the public can help us tackling these criminals by continuing to report it to us.”
