A BROMSGROVE care home resident got her toes tapping when her wish to dance again was made a reality.
When the team at Care UK’s Chander Court, on Recreation Road learned former dance school owner and teacher Beryl was keen to dust off her dancing shoes, they were determined to make her dream come true.
Beryl, 93, often tells staff about her passion for dance, which was ignited by watching performances as a young child.
Her dedication saw her rise through the ranks and she was crowned British champion in 1972 for Ballroom and Latin.
She went on to own and manage Page and Holland Studio alongside her husband in Rubery, which later became Top Hat Disco and then Richardz.
On learning Beryl wanted to dance again, the Chandler Court team reunited her with former pupil, Paul Cammack. He brought his talented dance group for an afternoon of music and entertainment.

Beryl said: “I was thrilled and very happy memories.”
The dancers put on a special performance which Beryl critiqued and provided her feedback on.
Putting best foot forward, Beryl also proved she still has the moves, dancing the rest of her afternoon away.
The visit was made possible thanks to Care UK’s Wishing Tree scheme. It encourages residents to suggest ideas for new hobbies they would like to try, places they would like to visit or even activities linked to past careers.
From flying a plane to enjoying a fish and chip supper, no wish is too big or small.
Joleen Rayner, Chandler Court’s home manager, said: “Everyone knows Beryl loves to dance – she’s always the first person up on the dance floor.
“She also regularly shares her stories of when she was younger.”
She thanked the home’s team and the performers from Richardz and Paul for making Beryl’s dream came true.
