THERE will be 144 real ales and over 50 ciders and perries available at this year’s Bromsgrove Beer and Cider Festival.

The event kicks off at 6pm on Thursday (June 29) at the town’s Rugby Club for CAMRA members and non-members wishing to join.

The other sessions take place from midday to 11pm on the Friday and between 11am and 9.30pm on the Saturday.

Admission to the event, which is organised by the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), is £10.

It includes a programme, £5 worth of drinks vouchers and a deposit for the commemorative glass.

Card-carrying CAMRA members receive £7 worth of drinks vouchers.

The chosen charity for this year’s festival is Parkinson’s UK which improves the quality of life for people affected by the condition and funds research aimed at finding better treatments and an increased understanding of it and its causes.

There will also be beer and cider tasting sessions showcasing different styles and the array of ales and cider and perry being produced in the UK.

And the event will also play host to the West Midlands Region Beer of the Year Competition.

There will be entertainment on the Saturday afternoon from the ever popular Blackwell Concert Band and camping is available from the rugby club for an additional charge.
