A TOTAL of 12 fire crews are currently battling a large blaze in Blackwell which broke out tonight.

The fire at the former Hunters Hill College, off Spirehouse Lane, broke out around 9.30pm. A large section of the buildings were engulfed in flames and the fire can be seen from miles around.

Smoke is also billowing from the blaze and people living nearby are being urged to keep their doors and windows shut.

Drivers should also avoid the area.
