'Busy year getting around the county' - A Christmas and New Year message from the Worcestershire Council Chairman

Bromsgrove Editorial 25th Dec, 2018   0

IT’S BEEN a busy 2018 for me in my role as the Chairman of the County Council.

Since I was elected in May, I’ve been to many civic engagements across the whole of Worcestershire. It’s been great to be invited to these events and to meet so many wonderful and friendly people.

There have been many highlights for me in 2018.

I enjoyed being involved with the presentation of the Queen’s Awards for Industry to two companies in the county with the Lord-Lieutenant and the Deputy.

It’s always great to see companies in Worcestershire recognised for their successes.

It was also a pleasure to be at the unveiling of the Sir Stanley Baldwin statue in Bewdley by The Duke of Gloucester and to meet the artist who designed the statue. Especially as Sir Stanley was from this area.

Finally, it has been an honour to meet Princess Anne, twice in 2018. Once when she came to meet everyone at the charity Headway in Worcester and the other at the 60th anniversary of the Three Counties Showground.

2019 promises to be another busy year and I look forward to continue working with my colleagues in the six districts and representing Worcestershire County Council.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone and a very prosperous New Year.

Coun Brandon Clayton

Worcestershire County Council Chairman
