A CAMPAIGN to raise £40,000 to redevelop the playground at Bromsgrove’s Rigby Hall School has received a boost from the town’s Asda supermarket which donated £500 from its ‘green token’ scheme.

The cash, presented this week, takes the fund-raising total to over £5,000.

Headteacher Tracey Smith said thanked the Asda Foundation and said: “We are overwhelmed with the support of the Asda customers, because of this part of the new playground will be dedicated to the customers of Asda and the Asda Foundation.”

A spokesperson for the Friends of Rigby Hall added: “We are amazed and deeply pleased with the support of the local community, watching the collection box rise each week was fantastic.

“We are now a step closer to redeveloping the playground for the children of Rigby Hall.”
