THE STORE director of Bromsgrove’s Specsavers has raised £3,000 for charity after completing the London Marathon.
Mark Gibson ran the 26.2mile race for VICTA, a charity supporting children and young adults living with sight loss.
He had initially set himself a fundraising target of £2,250 and surpassed it.

The team at Specsavers on Bromsgrove High Street hosted a series of community events, including book sales, cake sales, raffles, and a sale of knitted goods.
In a final show of solidarity, colleagues also set up an in-store treadmill and walked 26.2 miles, the same distance Mark ran, to provide a final boost to the fundraising campaign and celebrate Mark’s achievement.
Mark said: “Completing the London Marathon is one of my proudest achievements.
“While it was a gruelling challenge, the atmosphere on the day was incredible and I am so grateful to everyone who donated to help me smash my target.
“I also owe a huge thank you to my wonderful colleagues for their unwavering support throughout my training and right up to the finish line.”
