BROMSGROVE sixth form students travelled to Westminsters Parliament as part of their A level politics studies.
The Bromsgrove School students watched live debates in the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and then took part in a workshop where they debated and had a chance to propose a new law.
Dr Michael Jewkes, the head of politics for Bromsgrove School, says ‘The students were really excited to watch a live debate in the House of Commons, as they’re used to seeing it on TV, and enjoyed trying to spot some familiar faces – Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell were both in the Chamber.
“They also got a taste of life as an MP, by debating the abolition of tuition fees, in their own mini parliament. I think a few of them are hoping to make it back as MPs or Lords one day.”
