Blow for Bromsgrove High Street as two big name shops set to close

Bromsgrove Editorial 26th Aug, 2023 Updated: 27th Aug, 2023   0

TWO BIG name High Street shops are set to close in Bromsgrove.

The moves will be a blow to shoppers visiting the town.

Fashion outlet New Look is set to close its doors on September 9.

Superdrug will shut its doors on November 18.

The Standard has contacted both New Look and Superdrug to ask about the situations surrounding the closures and any consequential job losses.

But we are still awaiting supply.

Other High Street losses

Bromsgrove town centre has received plaudits from visitors for the increasing number of independent and local outlets which have opened on the High Street.

Iceland closed its doors in February with the company urging shoppers to instead visit The Food Warehouse on the Birmingham Road Industrial Estate, where there is also Lidl, Home Bargains and Pure Gym.

The building in Mill Lane is now occupied by Maxi Deals. That retailer opened its branch in May, bringing 15 jobs.

NatWest also shut its Bromsgrove High Street branch at the end of January with its customers told to go to Northfield and Redditch.
