THE ARTISTIC director of Bromsgrove’s Artrix will step down this May after two years in the role.
During her time at the popular venue, Hannah Phillips has made a positive impact on the organisation, including winning the What’s On Award for Best Venue in Worcestershire and increasing audiences at Artrix events by more than 10,000 people per year.
By developing the venue into an inclusive arts centre and offering a diverse and high quality programme, other successes included the sell-out Baby Rave events, drive-in movies and the Festival of Light lantern parade which drew more than 1,000 people to Bromsgrove town centre in December 2017.
Stepping down in May, Hannah has decided to focus her time on her young family and her personal creative work as a theatre director and producer.
“Throughout my time at Artrix I have strived to make the organisation a welcoming and creative environment, with a vibrant and varied programme of high quality artistic and engagement for all,” she said.
“I am extremely proud of the achievements we have made as an organisation, including the innovative programme of events and developing the Arts Centre into an inclusive hub of creativity for the people of Bromsgrove and beyond.
“I look forward to seeing what’s in store for the organisation and its audiences, I have no doubt that Artrix has a very bright future.”
Hannah hopes to continue working with Artrix in the months to come, with her company of emerging artists, Outspoken.
