AROUND 1,700 tickets have already been sold for Bromsgrove Sporting’s FA Vase quarter final clash with Buckland Athletic.

The tickets for the Sunday’s game, which kicks off at 3pm and is set to be the biggest in The Rouslers’ history, only went on sale on Wednesday (February 8).

A total of 450 were sold to season ticket holders and sponsors on that first night, 250 have been snapped up by Devonshire-based Buckland Athletic’s supporters and last night alone a further 1,000 tickets were sold – including 800 for the club’s famous Shed End.

Bromsgrove Sporting chairman Mike Burke told The Standard: “It’s quite amazing really but I am not surprised by how quick they have sold.

“When I first came to the club I knew Bromsgrove Sporting was a sleeping giant and it needed something to trigger this kind of response.

“I think we will definitely get close to 3,000 fans.

“We have had the rush for the Shed End as people are worried they won’t get a ticket there so sales will probably slow down a little now.

“If we had a lower attendance, the worst part would have been explaining to fans we had ran out of tickets.

“Why shouldn’t everybody join in on the success?

“We, as a club, want everybody to enjoy the success together.”

Tickets will be on sale at The Rouslers’ Bar between 7pm and 10pm tonight (Friday) and everyday until next Sunday’s match.

The hottest tickets in town will also be available at tomorrow’s game with Cadbury Athletic. Kick off at the Victoria Ground for that one is 3pm.

Tickets are allocated for all four sections of the ground to prevent fan movement and are on a first come first served basis.
