New coffee and cake concerts coming to Bromsgrove's historic St John's Church

THE FIRST in a new monthly series of Saturday morning concerts takes place at 10.30am on September 23.

The Morning Cake and Coffee Concerts will be held at Bromsgrove’s historic St John’s Church and the first one, entitled ‘Autumn Reflections’, is being given by Joanna Gutovska (cello) and Mateusz Rettner (piano).

Joanna is currently studying for her Masters Degree at the Royal Academy of Music.

The concert will last about 50 minutes will feature music by Chopin, Debussy, Brahms and Schumann. It will be followed by coffee or tea and cake.




The programme has been organised by Alistair Moseley, the director of music at St John’s Church.

Although admission to the concert is free, any donations will be put towards buying a really good digital piano for events in St Johns and use by other organisations.


Next month (October 18) the entertainment will be provided by two local flautists Helen Foster and Janine Porter in a programme entitled ‘Flute Fusion’.
