THE JIGSAW Players’ stunning Sound of Music started well and then got better and better.

There were so many highlights on a thoroughly enjoyable and feel good evening.

Jenny Rose was amazing as Maria, perfectly portraying this character and her childlike love of life and enthusiasm and singing the many solos brilliantly.

Holly Lovell, Jarrad Heath, Olivia Brown, Sam Ryan, Eva Haynes, Chloe Gould and Talula-Rose Eglesfield excelled as the Von Trapp children.

Their renditions of Do-Re-Mi and So Long, Farewell, and the choreographed routines accompanying the songs received the biggest cheers of the night.

Catherine Tabberner’s Climb Every Mountain also received rapturous applause and left you wondering how it was physically possible to reach some of those high notes.

There is no-one better on the local musical theatre scene to have taken on that role or that song.Paul Robinson was also great as Captain Von Trapp.

Amidst what is a very emotive piece of musical theatre there were the much-needed comedic moments and they were provided ably by Kevin Ward as Max Detweiler and Maggie Stone, Anne Richter and Emily Davis as the quirky nuns – all got their fair share of laughs.

Overall, this production is a must-see.

You will leave the theatre with the many good songs in the show in your head and a warm glow in your heart.

The remaining performances take place at Droitwich Spa High School at 1.30pm and 7pm tomorrow and 4pm on Sunday.
