THERE will be music in the air at the Bowling Green Inn, Shaw Lane, Stoke Prior, when this year’s Bromsgrove Folk Festival kicks off on Thursday, July 11, writes Ben Tolley.
From 7.30pm there will be the free pre-festival celebration with an eclectic music session in the pub and acoustic and open mic event in the mini marquee.
Next Friday the pub opens at midday, with mini marquee concerts at 2pm and the main concert, featuring Fairfield, Richard Digance, Enda Kenny and the Churchfitters, from 7pm.
The following day there will be The Saturday Spectacular which boasts – from 2pm – sets by Silvington, Patchwork, Skies, Mike Silver and Enda Kenny.
The evening event from 7pm will see Mike Silver and Johnny Coppin, Anthony John Clarke and Jezz Lowe and the Bad Pennies.
Concerts will also be performed in the mini marquee from 10.30am and there will be dance displays.
Closing the show will be Bromsgrove Folk Festival’s Sunday Funday with a morning walk (dogs welcome), dry foam flinging, Appalachian Dancers, games and crafts and the Festival Finale concert.
