THE third match day of the Redditch and South Warwickshire Combination Football League season started with a couple of last minute pitch changes.

In the Championship, Redditch Borough NT lost 5-1 to a strong SSS Lions side with a hat trick from Jacob Webb. In a close game, Walkwood and Feckenham came out 3-2 winners against Astwood FC.

Elsewhere, FC Arrow Spa beat Headless Cross 3-0 to take maximum points from both of their opening games of the season. Redditch Borough JW stay top of the table after beating Queens Head 5-1 with another two goals from Jake Donnelly.

Abbeydale beat Meadow Park 5-2 with Secretary Kieran Madden scoring for Abbeydale to help them secure the three points.




In League 1, Redditch Borough LA beat Churchfields 7-2 with four goals from Ben George.

Oasthouse Athletic carried on their winning ways by beating Crusaders 4-2 with two goals scored by Kai Holbrook and Rednal Bilbao find themselves at the top of the table after beating Frankley United 5-0 with two goals each for Jimmy Ward and Connor Kelly.


In League 2, Lydiate Casuals claimed their first win of the season against Stoke Prior, beating them 4-2 and Redditch Town find themselves in second place after beating Rubery Memorial 5-2 thanks to a hat trick from Chris Adams.

Elsewhere, Astwood Reds secured their first win of the season beating Catshill Rangers 3-2.

South Birmingham Activ beat fellow new boys Red Star Bromsgrove 7-1 to keep themselves in a strong top position with maximum points from their first three matches as Lee Jagger scored a hat trick for the side at the top.

Lastly, FC Redditch beat Bartley Reds B 5-0 with two goals each from Yuki Takahashi and Shane Kelleher.
