PUPILS at North Bromsgrove High School celebrated the end of the summer term by donating the proceeds from their recent fund-raising efforts to the Basement Project.
As part of The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust ‘On Track to Achieve’ programme, a group of year nine and ten pupils organised a social action project and raised £250.
North teacher Katy Travers said: “We are so grateful for the support of our wonderful students and parents to help us contribute to important local charities like the Basement Project.”
Sixth-formers also organised an Inter-House competition which included a foodbank collection, and several food parcels were collated from each house.
Kelly Turner, The Basement’s community fund-raiser, said: “After a year in lockdown, it was great to get back out into school and meet these amazing young people who have done so much to support their peers in need.
“The food parcels will be gratefully received by families struggling to make ends meet, and £250 will help a young person to get set up in a tenancy with some white goods or some carpet.”
