Warwickshire Museum set to host 'To the Moon and Beyond' exhibition on space

Bromsgrove Editorial 21st Apr, 2019   0

A NEARBY museum is appealing for memories of the space race, space memorabilia and childhood space toys for an exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the first landing on the Moon.

The appeal comes from Warwickshire Museum which is hosting ‘To the Moon and Beyond’ an exhibition on space which will feature samples of moon rock plus a collection of space memorabilia as it explores mankind’s fascination with space and space travel.

The curators would also like to hear memories of the space race, including where people watched the footage of the first moon landing, whether you bought any souvenirs and whether you are a fan of space themed films and TV shows of the era.

Anyone with memorabilia, childhood toys or collectable objects from the time that they would be willing to lend to the exhibition would also be very welcome, including any household or personal items from the 1960s and 70s whose design was influenced by the space race and moon landing.

If so, email [email protected] or call Rebecca Coles on 01926 736397.

The deadline for offers is April 30, 2019.
