Police continued their parking clampdown at two Bromsgrove schools yesterday

BROMSGROVE Police continued their crackdown on illegal, dangerous and irresponsible parking at two more schools yesterday.

Officers carried out parking patrols carried at Finstall First and Aston Fields Middle Schools.

Those drivers who had parked their vehicles inconsiderately were issued with fines.

Parents taking their children to and from school are urged to think about where they are leaving their cars.

In October last year, Bromsgrove Police launched Operation Lollipop in a bid to promote safer parking at schools in Bromsgrove, Rubery, Hagley, Alvechurch and Wythall as part of a ‘You Said, We Did’ scheme.

Officers want people to take photographs of vehicles parked in a dangerous or inconsiderate manner which could pose a risk to children, vulnerable people or other road users.

The operation is aimed at ensuring vulnerable road users and local communities feel safe, and the police say they appreciate people’s help with the scheme.

Digital images, when accompanied by the details of the time, date and location of the vehicle when the photo was taken, provide strong evidence to enable the police to take action.
