A SPECIAL 999 flag will be flown by Bromsgrove District Council on Sunday, September 9, to celebrate the emergency services.

Known as 999 Day and inspired by Armed Forces Day the event is aimed at promoting good citizenship and the effectiveness and efficiency of the emergency services.

Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Coun Caroline Spencer, who is supporting the flag flying, said: “I am delighted the hard work of our emergency services is being recognised and I hope this national event becomes more of a success each year.”
