THE RUBERY community has also been preparing a plot to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

During Armistice and Remembrance Weekend 2017 a group of 16 volunteers from Rubery in Bloom planted out a poppy patch in Legion Road and year eight students from Waseley Hills High School made poppies to decorate the surrounding fence with.

Because of the time they poppies were planted they will bloom this year to mark the 100th anniversary of the conclusion of The Great War.
