THE BROMSGROVE girl who is campaigning to put a defibrillator in every school across the district has been praised by MP Sajid Javid who paid her a visit.

Emily Faulkner, ten, was invited to meet Mr Javid after the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government saw the amazing charity work she had done through her ‘Every Heart Matters’ drive, working with The Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF).

He was very impressed by Emily’s campaign which she launched after hearing Rob and Maggie Underwood from CCSHF about how they lost two their two children Charlotte and Craig.

So far the money Emilys campaign has raised has put a defibrillator into Parkside Middle School, a defibrillator and 24 hour access unit at Dodford First School and one of the life-saving device at Stoke Prior First School.

She has raised a massive £4,435 in just over six months and is already half way towards her fourth defibrillator. Some of the cash has been raised by her very own Every Heart Matters clothing range she created for the cause.

When she met Mr Javid he presented her with a certificate of congratulations and a bouquet of flowers for her hard work.

The tenacious ten-year-old is currently working on some Christmas Heart Designs which are due to be launched this week and she is looking to hold a stall at Sidemoor First School’s Christmas Fete.

Emily has also received a £100 donation from Bromsgrove Methodist Church Centre.

Her aunt Gail Fry said: “This truly shows how local people and communities are getting behind this amazing cause and behind such a brilliant hard working charity. “Without great donations like this it wouldn’t be possible, so thank you to everyone who has and keeps helping.”
