Fairfield Frock Swap hailed a success after collecting £200 and clothes for women's refuge

THE FROCK Swap held in Fairfield has been hailed a fantastic success.

The event on May 17 in Fairfield Village Hall also saw £200 raised for the West Mercia Women’s Aid refuge and ten bags of quality clothes were donated to the cause.

The frock swap saw participants being urged to donate between five and ten gently worn and washed items they no longer use (clothing, accessories, shoes or handbags).

They would then receive one token for each ‘pre-loved’ item donated to exchange for something else.

As well as the frock swap, there were also a host of other stalls on the evening – they included hair by Karen Grove and Lou Hughes at Profiles, jewellery and bags by Moda Jewellery and image consultancy by Charlotte Scriven from House of Colour.

The vintage tea party refreshments were provided by Denise Johnson, make-up by Emma Aston and a raffle and prizes courtesy of High House Health and Beauty.

Organiser Julie Baldwin said the event was a great success and thanked The Standard for the coverage, saying it enabled them to reach outlying areas surrounding the village.
