CHILDREN from Catshill First School and Nursery were also invited to ‘sing for their Christmas dinner’ at The Marlbrook pub.

The three Key Stage 2 classes went along to the Toby Carvery pub on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (December 5, 6 and 7) and sang carols.

Then, after their free carvery dinner which included plenty of cracker pulling, they enjoyed a visit from Father Christmas who gave them a little present each.

Staff said the children were well-mannered and they enjoyed hearing them sing.

Tyler Hales, eight, said: “The best bit was eating the turkey dinner and singing the carols.

“Thank you to the staff for the lovely dinner.”

Adam Rivett, the school’s assistant headteacher, said: “As a school we were delighted to be invited to do this and deliver some of our wonderful singing to our local community.

“It put us in such a lovely Christmas spirit that we even burst into song on the way back to school.

“We would like to share our thanks and Christmas wishes with all the staff and patrons at the Marlbrook and we hope that they will have us back again next year.”
