FOUR students from Bromsgrove are celebrating after achieving First Class Honours in their degrees at the University of Worcester.

Jasmine Hopkins, Matthew Arnold, Lucy Millership and Pam Norris will graduate with the highest classification during a week of celebrations at Worcester Cathedral in November.

Jasmine, 21, studied accounting and is now heading off to a full-time training scheme to get further qualifications, with a view to a career as a chartered accountant.

The former North Bromsgrove High School pupil, of Church Road, Catshill, said: “It’s nice to know the stress and hard work has paid off.”

Matthew, also a former pupil of NBHS, studied for a BA (Hons) Business, Accountancy & Economics.

“Finishing my degree has provided me with an excellent first step onto the career ladder and I have subsequently managed to secure a place on the DHL Finance Graduate Scheme .”

Lucy, 37, achieved a first in Midwifery and has already got employment with Gloucester Royal Hospital.

“Being a full time student midwife, a mum of three small children and the day-to-day running of a family home has proven to be a challenge at times so achieving a first was overwhelming.”

Pam, 43, achieved her first in Education Studies and is starting her PGCE teacher training course with the University in September.

“I had hoped for a first but knew it would be a challenge as I was working and looking after my family whilst studying,” she said.

“I feel really proud that all my hard work paid off and I achieved my goal.”
