THE LATEST talk in the Bromsgrove Society Local History Group’s programme will take place at 7.45pm on Tuesday (September 20) on the subject of Elgar’s Countryside.

The ever-popular Brian Draper will give the illustrated presentation at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre about the beautiful part of the county where he has lived and worked all his life which was also loved by Edward Elgar.

During the summer, the society again held its Summer School which this year attracted more interest than it had previously.

Subjects included Bromsgrove Georgian Buildings, Shelsley Walsh Water Mill, Bromsgrove Mills and the Union Workhouse.

In July the AGM saw the election of new officers including the well-known Pat Tansell as chairman, who will take The Bromsgrove Society on towards the 2020s.
