A £500 cash boost has been donated to the Worcestershire Breast Haven Unit from Bromsgrove Ladies’ Circle.

Members were given a tour of the unit by consultant breast surgeon Steven Thrush and the group’s chairman Vicky Hadley said it was great for them to get an insight into the area.

“We were all very impressed with the facilities available at The Haven and with the hard work and dedication the team has put into getting the doors open.

“We hope our donation goes some way to helping local women during a potentially traumatic period of their lives.”

The state-of-the-art unit opened in February after the massive efforts of Mr Thrush and his team to raise the £1.8million needed.

“We could all feel the love and compassion that has gone into this project and it is very important to us as a group that we support our local community,” Vicky added.

The Ladies’ Circle is open to women aged between 18 and 45 and its aim is for members to make friends, have fun and do some fund-raising along the way.
