THE FLAMES and the flags flew high on Thursday (April 21) to mark HM The Queen’s 90th birthday.

Residents flocked to Bromsgrove High Street in the evening to see the festivities begin which included a performance from Blackwell Wind and concert Band.

The Bromsgrove Birthday Singers took centre stage before the Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Beacon was lit to mark the special occasion.

A spokesman from Bromsgrove District Council said: “We were delighted to be one in a chain of more than 900 locations across the world that lit a beacon to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s ninetieth birthday last week. It was an honour to host the event and to be joined by so many from the community.”
