Positive changes for Wythall Libary as it re-opens end of April

Bromsgrove Editorial 20th Apr, 2016 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

WYTHALL Library will close at 5pm on Wednesday (April 20) so it can be moved to the Woodrush High School site.

The changes are expected to take ten days and the new-look library is due to open at its purpose-built space at the Shawhurst Lane school at 9.30am on April 30.

The services offered in the new library will not change – there will be free internet access, children’s activities, adult learning courses and other regular activities.

The purpose built hub will also include meeting space, a cafe, gym and dance studio.

All items borrowed which are due back during the closure will automatically be given an extension until the work has been completed.

Customers wanting to use a library during that time are being urged to go to Alvechurch or Redditch or to use free e-books and e-magazines available at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/libraries

Council bosses are also looking for volunteers for the new look library.

Roles include meeting and greeting library customers, becoming a digital champion to help people get online, shelving and helping to keep the library tidy, unpacking items and getting involved in library clubs and other regular library activities.
