THERE was plenty of flippin’ fun and frolics at St John’s Church in Bromsgrove on Shrove Tuesday when the annual pancake event was held.
More than 25 people turned up for the evening’s entertainment, which began with both sweet and savoury pancakes aplenty – ranging from the traditional sugar and lemon to chocolate spread ans chilli con carne.
There was then a logo challenge, a food and drink-themed quiz and a treasure hunt around the historic church which challenged the teams to search for 15 hidden pancake ingredients.
The night’s tasks were won by the group Flippin’ Heck, made up of churchwarden Sian Moule, Caroline Khan, Evelyn Reston and Susan Reston.
Sian told The Standard: “It was certainly an evening of fun for all the family to signal the start of lent.
“It was also great to win the quiz – everybody in our team played their part.”
