A SINGER who wowed the judges and the audience by performing Frozen hit Let it Go in 25 different languages is in the semi-final of Search for a Star.
Laura Nichloson switched seamlessly from one language to another, singing a couple of lines in each one, including French, German, Flemish and Polish.
Laura also sang James Brown’s I feel Good and Mambo Italiano.
She was joined by Stacy K and 16-year-old Holly May in the next round after the latest heat at the Austin Sports and Social Club in Longbridge.
Laura told The Standard: “I went up there, had a bit of fun and it paid off – all the acts on the night were amazing.”
She added she would now be looking towards the semi-final and thinking about what to put into her next set list.
Stacy, who is expecting her third child in June, said: “I entered competitions when I was 13 but haven’t really done anything since – I’m 25 now, so it’s been a while.
“It’s great to be through.”
The judges put her through after her renditions of Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Be My Baby and Duffy’s Mercy.
Holly May had made it through to the national rounds of the Teen Star competition twice before but this was her first time in this contest.
Among the songs she sang were Adele’s Hello, Rihanna’s Diamond and Leona Lewis’ Moment Like This.
She said: “I thought everyone performed really well and there was a really good atmosphere backstage.
“We all got on really well and supported each other before the show and throughout it.”
Judges included executive TV producer Johnanna Dyer, Bromsgrove Standard editor Tristan Harris and Roy Watton from Rubery Drama Group.
