THE CHARITY Headway West Midlands is looking for 200 people to take part in the very first 5k Fun Run in Cofton Park on March 20.

The charity, which provides a range of specialist services for those affected by brain injury, is encouraging runners of all abilities to sign up early for the event.

Entrants will receive an Easter egg and a unique Easter-themed medal on completing the 5k route.

There will also be prizes for the first male and female runners to finish, as well as for the entrant wearing the best Easter costume.

Headway’s fund-raising manager Julie Wedgbury said: “If your New Year resolution is to get fit, then this is the event for you. With eight weeks before the run, there’s plenty of time to train and it’s a chance to get more active and have fun as you do so.

“All ages and all abilities are welcome, and it’s up to you whether you run, jog or walk the five kilometres. While fancy dress is optional, the event is only a week before Easter and so it would be lovely to see a few Easter chicks and bunnies bouncing around the course.”

Entry is £10 in advance and, if there are still places available, £12 on the day.

Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

All proceeds will go to Headway West Midlands.

Full information and entry details are available online at www.headway-wm.org.uk.
