CHILDREN from North Bromsgrove High School and Charford First School joined forces for a Christmas Fayre, raising £2,400.

The sixth-form students helped organise the stalls, encouraging youngsters to join in with the festive fun.

Among the stalls were festive mugs, chocolate coins, face painting and a tombola.

Local businesses, parent and friends of Charford First School also donated items for a prize draw, as well as the stalls, and there was a visit from Father Christmas.

Sixth-form student Annie-May Lawrence, 17, said: “This is the second year we have been able to help out and it’s a really fun time for the children and certainly makes you feel festive.”

Ruth Gillam, chairman of the Parents and Friends Association, added: “The fayre provided such an exciting time for the children and it’s great that we had so many donations and parent and student helpers to ensure all the stalls were a success.”
