YOUNG PEOPLE are being urged to take part in a gaming competition between 3pm and 7pm tomorrow (Thursday) at Frankley Library.

The Frankley Gaming Fest, sponsored by site Nintendoid, hopes to bring people back to the library by appealing to gamers of all ages and backgrounds.

The fest will feature games from past and present, including Pac-man and Super Mario to FIFA 2016 and Mario Kart. The library will also hold gaming tournaments and a raffle, with several prizes on offer.

The organiser of the event said, over the past few years, the amount of people visiting the library had plummeted, with the area of Frankley holding little to no activities for teenagers and young people.

It is hoped the event will encourage people to visit the library and enjoy the resources and facilities it has to offer.

The event is completely free to participants.
