Bromsgrove volunteer to do 10k race for homeless

BROMSGROVE volunteer Helen Tuite is taking part in this year’s Timberhonger 10k race in Sanders Park, in aid of the Basement Project on July 11.

Helen is aiming to raise awareness for the project, which provides a drop-in centre and outreach support for young people who are homeless or are facing homelessness, in and around North Worcestershire.

Her target is to raise between £50 and £100 and hopes that locals will come forward and sponsor her even if they don’t know her.

Although Helen has been running for a few years and tries to run twice a week, she feels 10k will still be a tough challenge.

“I’m hoping local people will come forward and sponsor me for what is a really good cause.”
