The polls open at 7am and between then and 10pm in Bromsgrove, residents will be choosing who they want to be their next MP and also who they want representing them on the district council.

Five Parliamentary candidates will be battling it out for the constituency seat – Conservative Sajid Javid, Labour’s Tom Ebbutt, Liberal Democrat Bart Ricketts, The Green Party’s Giovanni ‘Spoz’ Esposito and UKIP’s Stuart Cross.

In the local elections, there will be 31 seats contested across 30 wards to determine the make up of the district council.

At 10pm, the polls will close and the ballot boxes will be taken to the Dolphin Centre in School Drive.

There, through the night, the Parliamentary votes will be verified and counted and the result will be given in the early hours of Friday morning, revealing who will be the town’s MP.
