A TOTAL of 15 chainsaws were stolen from units at The Stables, Harbours Hill, Belbroughton.

The theft took place between 6pm last Thursday (May 7) and 9am last Friday (May 8).

The raiders are believed to have driven across fields and approached a secure metal barn on a farm site near to the property there.

They then pulled back a metal panel within the barn to gain access, before forcing padlocks to three storage units that were fixed to three lorries.

It was then they took the chainsaws.

The barn was supposed to be protected by an alarm but, for an unknown reason, that did not go off.

Officers, who found a pair of ladders near to the scene, now want anyone who knows anything about the theft to get in touch.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
