Popular pop-up restaurant returns for good

THE PAIR who set up Bromsgrove’s first pop-up restaurant are back by popular demand and have set up permanent residence on the High Street.

The Epi Restaurant was launched last October and opened for just three days every month.

Since then it has gained the reputation as one of town’s finest eateries, allowing owner and local chef Nathan Eades to quit his full-time job and pursue his dream of having his own restaurant.

The success of the joint venture between Nathan and Bromsgrove businessman Ben Ascott has allowed the pair to acquired the Grade II listed building, formerly Lilly Langtrys.

During its time as a pop-up restaurant the establishment scooped up the Open Table Diners’ Choice Restaurant Award and became Bromsgrove’s number one restaurant on Tripadvisor.

From Tuesday through to Saturday, between 9.30am and 5.30pm, the restaurant will operate as an informal bistro known as The Courtyard.

Diners will be able to enjoy an exclusive blend of coffee from Chartley Coffee Company as well as light homemade lunches.

Of an evening, from 6.30pm and 9.30pm, from Wednesday to Saturday, Epi at the Courtyard will be offering a variety of seasonal three, five and seven course menus with optional wine showcasing the best of locally sourced produce.

The eatery, which has undergone a major refurbishment, enshrining all the building’s heritage and charm, has also designed a rather unusual drinks menu.

Restaurant goers will be able to order cocktails such as Rhubarb and Rosehip Fizz, Apple and locally foraged elderflower gin and a variety of ales from Birds Brewery.

The restaurant prides itself on using local products to serve modern British cuisine influenced by French techniques and also focuses on creating natural flavourings from foraging wild foods.

Diners will able to enjoy a completely new menu every month.

Nathan said: “We are just working class people and we want the local people to embrace us.

“Both myself and my wife are very excited about being restaurateurs.

“It is every chef’s dream to have his own restaurant and I am glad and pleased my time has finally come now.”
