A MAN was wounded outside a Rubery takeaway after being hit by a ride-on mini-scooter being driven by a teenager.

The 34-year-old from Birmingham became involved in an altercation with a group of youths outside Chaps takeaway about 10.30pm on Wednesday (October 15).

They had eaten a meal inside and were then acting anti-socially outside the restaurant.

The man sustained a serious injury to his face after being hit by the scooter and he needed treatment at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The youths the police want to speak to were four boys in their early teens with mini-scooters. After the incident, they went off towards New Road.

Any parents whose children may have been out at that time are urged to contact the police if they have any information.

And any witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Details can also be given via www.crimestoppers-uk.org – the Crimestoppers website.
