YOUNGSTERS from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School held their own Diwali celebration.

The children found out about Diwali culture and traditions at Longbridge Methodist Church by acting out the Diwali story and making Rangoli patterns and clay lamps.

One of the parents, dressed in traditional clothing, also brought in some Indian food for the little learners to try and spoke to them about Rangoli patterns, which are drawn on doorsteps to welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.

She explained how the children in her family would be going to the temple to pray.

Jacqueline Walker from Jellybabies, said: “The children all enjoyed the taste table and have learned a lot about the festival of Diwali.”
