THE CHIEF executive of NewStarts has issued a heartfelt thanks to Bromsgrove residents after the homeless charity was awarded £2,000 from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund.

Marion Kenyon said: “We are really delighted to have been awarded the £2,000 and want to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for us.

“It’s great to know that we have such support locally.

“The money will be used to provide equipment for our volunteers whose hard work enables us to help hundreds of local people.”

Residents voted in their droves for NewStarts to receive the cash.

The charity provides free furniture, emergency food and household supplies to families and individuals in the greatest need because they are either on low incomes or in financial crisis.

NewStarts also offers volunteering and work placements to people – from cooking to warehousing and administration to computer recycling as well as many other posts.

The charity also provides free IT training, debt advice and household budgeting.
