A NEW iPad app will teach children about health as well as the reading, writing and arithmetic.
The Junior Paramedic app developed by West Midlands Ambulance Service is aimed at youngsters aged four to seven and features ten interactive activities.
They include identifying whether an accident was ‘big’ or ‘little, anatomy and physiology and staying safe while on holiday.
Julian Rhodes, head of education and training, said: “This has been peer reviewed by teachers. I’ve even tested it on my nieces and nephews. They love it and I love it.
“By designing the Key Stage One learning in a health context, we are educating tomorrow’s adults who will treat the NHS with respect.”
The app can be downloaded from the App Store for free until the end of February, after which it will cost 69p.
