Shooting in Northfield by Sheriff Mbye shrine

A TEENAGER has been shot in face in Northfield near to the shrine of Sheriff Mbye who was died after a stabbing last month.

An 18-year-old went hospital with facial injuries last Saturday (April 25) and remains in a stable condition.

Police were called to Lockwood Road about 1.30am after a house window was smashed and around an hour later a man arrived at hospital with his injuries.

Detectives investigating the shooting are trying to track down two significant witnesses who may have been in the area at time and saw what happened.




The men were white and both wore tracksuits.

Det Insp Paul Joyce, from Force CID, said: “A major investigation is on-going to track down the people responsible for this crime.


“In particular we want to speak to two men who we believe may have vital information about what happened that night.

“We also want to hear from anyone who saw any cars being driven erratically in the area during the early hours of Saturday morning.”
