Rubery Rednal man remanded over Barnt Green burglary

A REDNAL man has been remanded in custody in connection with a house burglary in Barnt Green on Monday afternoon (May 12).

Jewellery was stolen in the break-in at Mearse Lane which was reported to police at about 2.45pm.

Anton McIlroy, aged 30, of Oberon Close, Rubery Rednal, was arrested in Frankley later that afternoon and was quizzed by detectives from the North Worcestershire burglary team at Kidderminster Police Station.

He was then charged overnight with burglary and, after appearing at Redditch Magistrates Court on Tuesday (May 13), was remanded to appear at Worcester Crown Court on June 18.




Officers recovered a quantity of jewellery which is believed to have been stolen in the burglary.
