RESIDENTS were left without water for more than seven hours on Wednesday (May 28).

Calls were made to Seven Trent Water to report the problem in Byron Way and Spencer Walk at around 9.30am.

The company said after conducting an investigation they found a third party contractor had drilled through a water pipe in the area – they managed to fix the problem and get the water supply up and running again by 4.30pm.

A Seven Trent spokeswoman said: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers but we carried out the repair as soon as we could.”
