THE PRIMROSE Hospice’s fund-raising officer Wendy Stokes will bid farewell to the charity today (Friday) after almost eight years.
She joined in July 2006 as an administrator in the fund-raising department, before becoming a fully-fledged fund-raiser.
During that time, the fund-raising team Wendy has been part of has collected in excess of £3million for the Hospice.
And she said she had experienced a number of memorable moments, including being lost in Valkenburg on a trip to the Christmas markets and recovering with colleague Lyn Winters in Sanders Park at 5.30am on a chilly March morning after the Midnight Walk.
She also found herself clinging to a gazebo in hail, wind, and snow on the Clent Hills.
“Whether I have been at Ladies Day in the sunshine, or in the pouring rain and freezing cold, I have enjoyed every single moment of it.
“It has been both a great privilege and a pleasure to have been part of the Primrose fund-raising team and to have met and worked with so many lovely people along the way.”
Wendy is moving to work with another North Worcestershire charity – The Carers’ Careline.
