BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC made a successful return to the pitch after a spate of postponements by reaching the semi-finals of the Intermediate Cup, writes Neil Gordon.
The Greens beat Walsall-based ISSA FC 3-1 in the quarter-finals at Eldorado Close with Rovers returning to action for the first time since mid-December due to weather-related postponements.
Rovers fell behind to their lower-ranked Birmingham and District Football League Division Two outfit, when Zachary Davis converted an early penalty.
However, Ash Pardoe equalised on 30 minutes before Sam Horton promptly put Rovers ahead moments later.
After the interval, Alex Hopper added a third from a corner to complete the comeback and put Bromsgrove into the semi-finals, where they will play Thimblemill Rec or Hampton Sports.
Rovers now return to Birmingham and District Football League Division One action for the first time since November, having slipped to bottom of the table.
The Greens have up to five games in hand on some teams, and can move up three places to eighth, should they beat North Solihull.
Bromsgrove play North Solihull at Eldorado Close on Saturday, January 24. Kick-off is 2pm and admission free.
