BROMSGROVE Sporting suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away at unbeaten league leaders Harborough Town.

A second-half strike from Riley O’Sullivan settled the game before the substitute saw red late on at the Community Football Ground.

The result means Bromsgrove sit 15th in the Southern League Premier Central table, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Sporting almost broke the deadlock after just three minutes as Reece King saw his header cleared off the line from Josh Ezewele’s cross.

At the other end, Sporting goalkeeper Adam Harrison kept out Andre Changunda effort.

The Rouslers responded with a chance of their own with Elliott Taylor equal to Charlie Pavey’s well-struck shot.

And Sporting ended the first half on top as Pavey sent a free-kick over the crossbar.

However, substitute O’Sullivan made an instant impact from the bench on 66 minutes as he chested down a long ball before lashing a shot past Harrison.

O’Sullivan later saw red 10 minutes from time after he picked up two yellow cards in quick succession.

Sporting had late chances as both James Sanderson and Jordan Lyden went close with the Rouslers unable to make the extra player count in the remaining minutes.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Worcester City on Tuesday, October 21 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Sixways Stadium.
