Lickey Hills car park and Visitor Centre shut after electrical fire

Bromsgrove Editorial 28th Dec, 2023   0

PEOPLE have been urged to avoid the Lickey Hills Car Park on Warren Lane after a fire broke out.

The incident happened earlier this morning with smoke billowing up from the ground, caused by the blaze.

One Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Redditch attended and ascertained it was caused by an underground electrical fault. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and National Grid was contacted.

National Grid engineers are now dealing with the issue.

The car park and the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre are both closed and people are being urged to avoid the area.

Officers from Hagley and Rubery Police are also in attendance.
